The Dying Lioness a small detail of just one of the many Assyrian relief designs that were discovered during the Assyrian rule. The Relief itself was entitled Ashurbanipal hunting Lions and belonged to the North Structure of Ashurbanipal. It was produced in 645 to 640 BCE and like many reliefs; it pictured a hunt taking place. It was normal sized at about five . 5 feet tall and designed out of Gypsum rock and roll giving itself a crimson hue. This falls into place with the description on most reliefs from this time. But what made this Assyrian relief be noticeable? It was a little detail, a lioness actually.
